Product Overview

Glucosidase is a large family of glycosidic hydrolase enzymes, primarily functioning to hydrolyze glucosidic bonds, releasing glucose as a product. It plays a vital role in the sugar metabolism pathway of organisms. Since glucosidic bonds are formed in either α or β configurations, the corresponding enzymes are referred to as α-glucosidase and β-glucosidase, respectively.

α-Glucosidase Production Process

α-Glucosidase is produced through fermentation.

α-Glucosidase Functions and Applications

α-Glucosidase is used for the determination of α-amylase and the synthesis of various 1′-O-sucrose and 1-O-fructose esters. It is also used to study the inhibition of glucosidase and for synthesizing 1′-O-sucrose and 1-O-fructose esters.
